Everybody.

We're here for a kind of a D23 post game.

We're not going to talk about everything, but we're going to talk about some of our favorite things.

D23.

Debrief.

Debrief.

There's nine here, Tim.

We don't not talk about everything.

Well, we got a lot of notes.

We don't have to talk about all the notes.

And I apologize in advance because I was very excited.

I love them.

Rebecca, you wanted to talk about everybody's favorite announcements.

I did.

And I mean, Joe and Brad on the spot, but I have one, so I don't care if they don't have one.

Okay, I had two, but I will leave with one because we're going to talk about another later on in the show.

But I noticed this is not in our show notes.

And I have to say, Lin Manuel Miranda's acceptance speech for the Disney Legends award, I thought, listen, we all know I love his Disney movies.

I love Hamilton.

What I loved about his speech was that he took something old and made it new again.

And I felt like at the end of the day, everything we heard at D23 sort of revolved around that, that everything doesn't have to be a multimillion dollar IP that we can take those things that we have held dear for a long time and grew up believing they were magical and.

And said, I want to be part of that.

And I loved when he stood up with the case for the Little Mermaid and he started doing his speech.

And my daughter grew up with the Little Mermaid.

So that was huge for me.

And I will say it wasn't because he was Lin Manuel Miranda that it was moving.

It was that it was the embodiment for me of what Disney was, of that harken back to childhood, that memorable moment and sitting there and knowing those words and wanting to be part of that.

And I love that moment for me.

So that was my favorite moment.

There were some great, great announcements and I'm so excited to talk about them, but I loved his speech.

Awesome.

Joe, what was your favorite announcement?

Well, I would say this, it's in our show notes for today.

But it's got to be the Tomorrowland overhaul for Disneyland Park.

That's just something like, for as, for as many people that love Disneyland.

I'm a Disney World guy, right?

But Disneyland like you hear about, oh, it's great.

Or Walt walked that Disneyland Tomorrowland is awful.

It's just like it's been neglected for years.

Everything from like the people mover turning into, you know, the, the rocket rods thing.

That was a giant mess.

It's just matter.

Well, the matter horn's still great, but you know, it's one of those things where, you know, it just needs some love.

And you know, you're seeing the love over in Walt Disney World with, you know, Tron Carousel Progress.

You're seeing it over in Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland with the new Space Mountain.

So you're seeing Tomorrowlands getting the love that they deserve.

Disneyland needs its love as well.

So I'm kind of excited about that just to.

It's one of my favorite lands of all the parks.

So it's definitely one that needs the love the most.

So I'm excited to see them actually put a little bit of resources and time and energy and attention into, you know, making Tomorrowland great again in Disneyland.

So nice, right?

And Brad, how about you?

Well, since, since Joe took mine, I am the Disneyland guy.

I was like, is he?

Yeah, that's okay.

But I, I agree.

Although we do differ.

I want to see what you have to say, Joe, when you get a 69 year old body and put it in Matterhorn.

Oh, I know.

Yeah, in a body traction.

After you write it.

I just can't ride it anymore.

It just kills me.

I loved it, but not anymore.

But anyway, so I'll, I'll pivot because it still is Disneyland for me.

There's a lot of cool stuff going on.

I love the Lion King that's coming.

Finally getting a land, a full land for Lion King.

I've always loved Lion King, one of my favorites, so I'm glad for that.

But for what's happening at California Adventures, the expansion of Marvel and then even though it's just another dark ride, anything coco coming to any of the parks makes me a happy camper.

So getting the new Cocoa Ride in California Adventures, I wish it was as nice as the one they're going to get in Disney World, but.

But yeah, I like some of the stuff that's going on there at California Adventures.

That park used to be just literally, at best, a half day park.

It's just not anymore.

There's so many new features in there that make it much more enjoyable to go there.

So.

Nice.

I would say you have a favorite.

Yeah, my favorite was the announcement of the voices for the Carousel Progress.

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Bryan Cranston and Stupid Judy.

Jamie Lee, Breaking Bad.

And.

I was thinking Malcolm in the Middle.

If he.

I could just see him doing like a Malcolm in the Middle type character for the dad.

Oh, that'd be funny.

Such a great.

That would be funny.

That would be awesome.

This is gonna be bad.

I'm gonna be thinking about Breaking Bad while I'm singing Carousel Progress.

I'm gonna be like,.

What's the next scene gonna be?

Oh, my gosh.

Blood gore.

What?

Yeah.

I feel lucky that I gave up on it in the second episode because I don't want that coloring my view of him.

I will say I've never seen a Breaking Dead.

Oh, it's fantastic.

I've seen nothing in the middle several times.

I just couldn't.

I couldn't.

It's very not Disney.

They framed the janitor and that made me mad.

Never again think of Resident Evil without zombies.

Just violent crazy.

He definitely has that, like, fatherly, warm voice.

So I. I do think he's a great choice.

Excellent.

All right, we got a bunch of news stories.

Quite so yellow.

I will say that they're very gold.

If you saw the prototypes, it's.

Yeah.

Very gold.

And I'm not sure how I feel about that, but we'll see.

They're probably just color corrections.

Everything will be fine.

Yeah, absolutely.

I found this whole D23 had a lot of filler information from previous announcements.

Wasn't like a whole lot of grand announcements of brand new things.

And I. I'm not gonna lie, I noticed that too, but I actually philosophically was okay with that because I love that part of what they're doing is preserving that legacy, and I think some of that deserves to be preserved.

I'm all about moving on and continuing to explore and create, but I love when they have something that works.

And just to jump in, I would say, like, the yeti being one of those or the fact that they're like.

I think that those things that maybe come across to, like, a Disney person who's not quite invested.

Like, people have been asking for that yeti for years.

So the fact that they are doing it may seem minor, but I think it's a Real indication that they're listening well.

And Tim, also, just to follow up with, Rebecca said, for years we've had these blue sky ideas, and we're just like, as hardcore Disney fans, we're kind of like, yeah, okay.

Yeah, okay.

This isn't going to happen.

We've seen so many ideas come and go that just do not come to fruition.

And this year, it was kind of like, you're right, was filler and.

And like.

And there was a lot of people making a little bit of fun of some of the announcements, like, oh, we're fixing the Yeti, you know, but I'd rather.

I'd rather have that with legitimate things.

Okay, Josh, tomorrow, like, you're in charge now.

This is your first D23.

Like, these are things that park fans actually care about, right?

And it's like, these are things that are actually doable and that are gonna actually incre.

Make the experience better.

Right?

Even with Dreamfinder figment.

Like, okay, like, that's something that's been talked about a lot.

The Spaceship Earth overhaul.

Like, we've been hearing rumors about that a lot.

These are all little things, like, okay, let's make them happen now.

You know, I don't need this giant, crazy, like, blue sky.

Like, these are, like, tangible things that we could, like, hold on to in the next couple of years.

Be like, cool.

Yeti works again.

It's awesome.

I forgot that, you know, it's been almost 20 years since it's worked, you know, and seeing actually, like, Figment Dreamfinder out there, you know, showing the imagination a little bit of love.

I like seeing that, you know, Carousel probably is finally getting that update.

You know, I'm saying these are.

These are.

These don't have to be grandiose so things.

It's almost like.

Almost like when you're.

You're dating a new lady, you do little things.

You don't have to do the big gestures all the time.

Little things go a long way and get you, you know, get your.

Your foot in the door.

It makes you feel hurt.

Yes.

It makes you feel valued.

It makes you feel heard.

Although I would argue right now because I may have seen the original Yeti one time before it was discontinued.

So my.

Almost my entire Disney experience experience has been disco Yeti.

So now I'm really excited that when they fix it, I get to say, but I remember disco Yeti,.

And it's a merchandise.

It's a merchandise opportunity.

They could totally sell disco Yeti.

Like, merchandise.

Like, retro stuff.

Retro disco yeti.

There's all kinds of opportunities there.

So.

So I can honestly say my.

My whole Walt Disney World experience, because so many years I just did Disneyland.

I've never seen the original yet.

I've never seen Dream Finder.

All of that was gone.

I love what Joe said because, yeah,.

I did not see original Dream Finder.

So I'm very excited.

So don't you feel like this is what I was thinking about?

And I think you nailed it.

Joe, I love.

Feels like we have leadership in Disney that is finally not solely focused on the stock market.

Well, how much money can I make for our stockholders?

He's going to make money for the stockholders, but he's listening to the people and saying, you know what?

They've been talking for a long time and nobody's listening, so maybe we should listen.

But Brad, you got to remember, like, he was in charge of the parks, but the thing is, he wasn't.

He wasn't the big boss.

So now he can, like.

So he's fighting.

He's striking a nice balance.

Look, he's still got to answer the stock.

That's exactly.

You're 100, right.

He.

We've got enough for, like, he's gonna, like, give us just enough to like.

Yep.

Josh is doing a good job, you know, so you're 100.

Right.

And it's not going to be crazy things at the stockholder meetings where it's.

Like, you know, so I read a.

Really good line in some of the research and wandering that I did during D23, and somebody made the comment, sometimes maintenance and stewardship is imagineering.

And that, like, that meant it, like, hit a chord with me because I think that that is true.

I think there are times to move on, and I think there are times to say, nope, actually, we're going to invest in what we already have.

Yep.

Very good.

I'll also say that a lot of the stuff that they announced two years ago at the D23 haven't even opened yet.

They're just still in the middle of construction with.

Right.

Announce a bunch more things are coming in 2031.

Let's.

Right.

But did you hear.

And I.

In my Disney lifetime, and Brad and Joe can correct me if I'm wrong, but they moved a deadline up, and I don't think I've ever heard them do that.

I don't remember one.

Do you, Joe?

I will say I'm waiting to see happen.

But they did say they were going to launch something soon.

And I went, what?

I rarely listen to their date because I know it doesn't matter.

It's not gonna happen.

So.

Yeah.

And if it was at the range, they get the end of the range, whatever the range is, they give one when it could open.

Yeah, well, and I think that that is true.

I think if.

If D23 got a sort of a mark back, or a.

In my case, a raised eyebrow on something, it is that they're not great about timelines and they have lost a lot of trust for those.

Or if they make the timeline, they brought it out too early and they shouldn't have.

They went live with Tiana too early.

Brad.

I always go back to, like, I just don't understand the timelines.

Like, they built Epcot in two years at the same time they built Tokyo Disneyland.

Exactly.

It can be done.

We can get on this, guys.

It's like, take a trip over to.

Universal, take some notes and figure out you can do this, because you can.

That's great.

But it is nice that they kind of pushed up.

I even think even Lakeside Lodge is kind of ahead of schedule right now.

I got a friend who is a engineer over at Wilderness Lodge in Fort Wilderness Area, and it looks like Lakeside Lodge is kind of moving along really well at the same time, too.

So, you know, the weather's been good down here in Central Florida.

Not a ton of rain, knock on wood.

No other things that happen between June and October.

So that's been kind of quiet.

So, you know, that just keeps things moving along.

So, yeah, that definitely helps with timelines and things like that, for sure.

Tim, I hope you appreciate the fact that we've completely blown up your notes and not.

Oh, it's fine.

Like I put in the notes, they're more like guidelines, really.

Starters.

Oh, it's opening next spring already, allegedly.

So there's that.

Amazing.

Some pretty big overall.

Listen, I'm not gonna lie.

Big overhaul.

I love Cranston and I. I love Jamie Lee Curtis, but I'm like, proceed very carefully, sir, because.

Right.

It is a favorite of mine.

My son was so upset because they were there just after it had closed and he was like, I didn't know the last time I wrote it was going to be the last time I was going to ride it before they changed it, which you can say about any attraction, but it's so you can.

Say that about any attraction.

I guess it is interesting to me with Carousel of Progress and Tomorrowland, like Joe and Brad were talking about, how do you effectively depict the future when the future is just constantly moving at light speed?

And I. I struggle with how they keep up with that.

So the one thing, Rebecca, I will challenge you on that is like really what has besides AI, what has really changed over the last 10, 15 years?

I think it's kind of gotten stagnant a little bit.

I don't disagree with you.

And what I find interesting is that if you look at the update to.

I'm sorry, I just blanked the golf ball.

They're going back to geodesic sphere communication and connection versus technology.

They're like human now.

They're focusing on human connection.

And it's interesting in the education world that I work in, we're seeing that a lot.

We're seeing parents who want less tech, more hands on.

And I see you see this shift happening and I think Disney is noticing that.

So, so don't disagree with you.

But I still think it's such a.

If you claim that we're the future.

Right.

It's very hard to keep up with that if you base it on nothing other than AI.

True.

It's a blank canvas for them though.

They can do anything.

It's like just have at it.

Come up with something crazy.

Stop trying to be realistic.

Say what the future is going to be.

Just talk about the future we've come into and it's going to grow from here.

But I would still love to walk through the house of tomorrow in interventions.

I would still love every minute of it.

And I don't know if any of that has come true, but I loved that.

And so I agree, like they can improvise and they can create something.

But it's interesting to me that I feel like they want to be on top of it.

I'm just not sure that that's possible.

Possible at this point.

I'm thinking I'm just finally getting to the stage in my life where being the, the, the grandpa in the group here.

Actually, by the way, that's.

That's a big update.

We have not.

I did not mention.

I am going to be a grandma.

Grandpa.

Yeah.

Too young for that, Brad.

I don't believe it.

Yeah, my.

If you remember before my oldest had like four miscarriages.

My youngest had.

Had two miscarriages.

My youngest is well on her way and we're looking for a Christmas baby right now.

And she is figured it out.

But anyway, so I am going to be the grandpa in the group.

I'm the youngest girl.

You're only old as you think, not as you feel.

Another sort of comment I read was some of the changes to Magic Kingdom and Disney World and somebody said, does every inch of the park have to do something?

Can we not just have space to breathe?

And that also struck a chord with me.

I loved those.

I love the rivers of America.

I love those spaces where you could.

It wasn't a gift shop, it wasn't an attraction.

So I am curious as to everybody else's.

Have we reached the era where everything has to do something?

Unfortunately, it does.

Every.

It's, it's, it's a return on investment for every square foot roi, my friend.

It's just the way of the world now, unfortunately.

So got to have something for the next person.

Who doesn't.

You got to have a gift shop at the end.

Right?

But Tim nailed it.

Okay.

If you're going to do this, I'm not going to.

I'm not going to get my firebrands out in a pitchfork and come after you, but impress me, impress me, impress me.

Or I got other places to go and other things to do.

I've always been devoted to Disney, but I'm at a stage in my life where I'm, okay, I gotta move on to another thing.

If it's just not for me anymore, it's not for me anymore, but I'm not gonna fight over it.

Do what you think you gotta do, but impress me.

If you want to keep me Around.

Yeah, I do love that it's not all about the high.

The high interest and high money making ip, like, we see.

We saw some things coming back.

Fresh ips coming in.

Some dream finders, some old ip.

I will go ahead and acknowledge my favorite just to move away from Disney World for a moment.

Disneyland, Tokyo Disney getting the Wreck It Ralph ride.

That's pretty good.

Listen, I.

My animated spirit animal 100% is Vanellope Bonchweet.

So I, I had not had Tokyo Disney.

I've done all the other parks.

Tokyo Disney would be the last one.

And it was really not a mobingo card.

It is now because I will go to see that ride.

But it's something, it's something different, Rebecca.

Like, it's, it's, it's.

And that's the thing.

Even with the Lion King, with the new Pride Land and stuff like that, that was, you know, introduced, like, that's been around forever.

It's such a good ip.

Like.

And I'm not always about ips, all the time, unfortunately.

Just the way the Disney World works right now.

But some of these classic ones, I think we've had the same, like Marvel, Star wars, you know, you know, Frozen.

But it's nice to see some different things, you know, I'm saying.

So I love.

You were mentioning the Tokyo.

Was it.

Is it Tokyo that's doing the sugar rush?

That is Tokyo.

This sugar rush.

And it is specifically Vanellope.

So.

So what do you guys think about that?

Personally, I'm like, see, there's another one.

Buzz Lightyear.

I love Buzzer Lightyear.

I'm okay, because I, I will love Sugar Rush.

I'd almost go just to be that as part of it, you know, I.

Mean, I want to do something very different than you in that there are not a lot of things that I would.

I might.

I might miss them.

I might feel.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

But I would never be like, don't you dare touch that.

Yeah, like I.

There's.

There are very.

I'm not.

I think I'm a little.

I'm a little disappointed in how they handled the.

Jim Henson.

The Courtyard.

I wish we could have kept both because I felt like that was Jim Henson's last project.

I felt like erased it.

That hurt.

On a logical level, I get it on a preserve.

Something that can never be reproduced.

Yeah, I agree.

That was a tough one for me.

So that was a tough one for me.

But I don't.

I think like you, I would be like this clearly appeals to someone, so I will find what appeals to me.

But I'm excited because Penelope, she's such a scatterbrained glitch turned.

What a great character.

I think that ride, if they do it right, that ride's going to be fun.

I dress up for her every year at Halloween.

She is my spirit animal.

I am so excited.

That one and the Monstropolis suspended door.

I don't know if y' all remember, but I called that one on a resort Loop podcast years ago.

We were doing a Imagineer edition, and I'm like, if I got to invent a ride, it would be.

And that was my ride.

Yeah.

They definitely listened to these shows because they took your idea there, Rebecca.

And I know this for a fact because on the Disney Dads podcast, we referred to people that hang around the resorts as looky lo, the ones that don't stay at the resorts.

And the term looky loo has been, like, thrown out there by Walt Disney Company.

So I'm like, they definitely listen to our shows.

That was our term we used on our show.

And they're like, oh, yeah, looky lo.

I'm like, that's our.

That's our turn.

Definitely picking up the.

They're definitely picking it up.

Just speaking, because I was at Magic Kingdom last weekend for my birthday, I did a chance to ride the new Big Thunder with the.

The new tracks.

With all the stuff.

What a difference.

So, Brad, that's what needs to be done at the Matterhorn is like, yeah, tracks.

Because.

Just fix the track.

Because the.

The Big Thunder tracks were smooth and faster, and it was amazing.

So what?

What a difference.

Yeah.

Okay.

Yeah, throw that out there.

I agree, man.

They don't have to get rid of Matterhorn.

Just fix it.

Just fix the tray, because that's a.

Lot of work matters.

There's a lot of traffic.

Kind of like the Yeti.

One of the parks.

They're replacing hyperspace mountain with space mountain with words that I.

With the OG and so they are moving backwards.

But I. I love that they are doing that.

I thought that was an interesting concept.

I think that.

Yeah, because I think what you're describing is there.

I don't know if moving backwards is the.

The.

The clear description.

They're retro.

They're going retro.

Yes.

Retro's a big thing.

They're correcting it, is what they're doing.

With the Star wars thing.

You know what it was.

I was getting the Coco attraction, I think.

And I was gonna.

Just remembered this because I was going to mention.

The ride you were talking about, Rebecca, was the.

That was the change.

Oh, maybe it was Sugar Rust that we were talking about.

Were they replacing Buzz Lightyear?

Yeah.

Part of it for me, when I see something like that, what I think about is Tower of Terror change at Disney.

At Disney California Adventures.

When they went to Guardians.

Yes.

They took a quality ride that everybody loved, and they literally change it in a way that, like Tim said, they impress the fire out of me.

That is one of my absolute favorite rides.

Now, what did.

What did you say?

I said.

I don't know what you were going to say there when you said fire.

Yeah, I didn't say that other word.

But I'm glad.

But, Brad, I'm glad that it's separate.

I'm glad I didn't touch Hollywood Studios version, like, let that remain Tower.

Yeah, that was fine.

Yeah.

And it's.

I think it's fantastic because, like, honestly, like, Guardians, for me, like, I love Cosmic Rewind, but I'm not a really huge fan of the.

Of the series, so, like, it's nice to still have, like, The Tower of Terror classic in Walt Disney World, but for those fans.

And it kind of fits in with, you know, Avengers Campus and all that kind of good stuff.

Whatever.

Marvel out in California Adventure, it works perfectly out there.

So it's kind of like you could have like it's almost having like a two different sedans.

You've got like a two door sports car and you got a four door sedan.

You know, two cars kind of do the same thing, but a little bit different.

So yeah, because had they done guardians like they did it there, it would have been odd in Hollywood studios.

It would have fit with nothing else and that would have made no sense.

But exactly.

In California Adventures in Marvel Land, it absolutely tied in perfectly.

It makes sense.

Not making sense or maybe making sense or.

Let's just discuss Encanto ride in Animal Kingdom.

I.

Let me get.

I'm going to be clear.

I will, I will.

Shots fired.

I love encanto.

I love the story.

Oh man.

I was excited about it.

I want it all the time, everywhere.

Because it's exciting to me.

Putting it in Animal Kingdom feels like when they put Frozen in Epcom.

Yeah.

Yeah, that's what I'll say.

Stuck it in somewhere.

Where did it really fit?

Hey, we can make some money if we put a gift shop at the end of this by calling it this.

They shoehorned it in a little bit where maybe there could have been a better choice, but that's where they were going to put it.

So again, impress me.

And within Kanto, it really does come down to they eliminated an entire land that sort of fit but didn't fit before with everything else that was in Animal Kingdom.

So they're trying something new.

So.

But I'm with you.

Let's please do this right so that it fits with.

It's cohesive with the land, with the park.

I think they've.

It could be done, but they're going to have to.

They're going to have to not just throw a ride in there and call it good.

They're going to have to do all do other things around it to create a land that somehow now fits with.

You know, they pulled it off with Avatar, which is crazy.

That should never fit in Animal Kingdom.

But it does.

It does.

It's just a weird animal, but prepared.

To be impressed is what I will say.

But I like the ride vehicles.

I thought the ride vehicles are beautiful.

Yes, agreed.

It just was an interesting.

I don't know, I've thought a lot about the placement of that and I think a lot about that just generally, because I think about what they're doing in Epcot and other places and, and even reskinning current rides to reflect more of an ip.

I just, I.

It's an interesting choice.

So.

And Tim, I just think with the change of leadership, right, you know, Jeff Valley is out as president at Walt Disney World.

You know, Josh is in the driver's seat.

You know, they've kind of scrap some of the.

The villains lands.

Plans are kind of like half baked or whatever they weren't really happy with.

I just, I feel like there's a little bit more encouragement or a little more positivity.

Like, I don't have a hundred percent, like, faith that's gonna be perfect, but I feel much better about, you know, going forward and like, things are going to be better, fit better and, you know, be a better attraction.

You know, I'm saying, like, we're all kind of all discussing these things, but I just think, like, where we are right now, we went from being like, nah to like, okay, this could be good.

You know, like, maybe not be blown away right away, but like, I think it's gonna be really better if that's such a.

You know what I'm saying.

I think it'd be like a slow.

I mean, I just think there's a little bit more momentum going forward out of this D23 with all the things we're discussing than we've had in the past.

You know what I'm saying?

Are there any of the ones that came out, like, what's the.

I guess my coach is.

What's the one you're most skeptical of?

I am most skeptical of the villain land.

Like, I just.

I think that's still a blue sky idea.

I want to see how much land is back there because Piston Peak is gonna be huge.

And I've spent a lot of time back there because we've run back there, you know, previous years.

Like, they'd have to do a lot of, like, behind the scenes things to move drainage and do this and do that, like, and how far back they go with it.

I don't even know to see how much room they even have to work with.

I just, I. I'm very skeptical about that right now.

I'm just gonna see it.

Full consensus on that one.

It keeps saying there's gonna be one, but we have no.

Even after this one, it's like, okay, that sounds nice.

But that still doesn't give us any sense of the scope of this thing.

And what they should have did.

The haunted mansion is so classic.

You know, the holiday party's four and a half months long.

You know, Halloween's in the air most of the year at the Magic Kingdom or Piston Peak national park is away.

That should have been villains land.

Make it.

Make it fit.

Where it kind of rolls into frontier land.

You know, you can have it where it kind of transitions.

But that would have been.

Oh, I think dead on.

That's a good point.

Because it's almost like they thought, well, we're tearing down this.

The island and these.

This mountain kind of feeling.

So let's put it right there.

It would have been better to tie that into.

I'm gonna miss the riverboat ambiance more than anything.

The whistle.

I love that whistle.

Yeah, exactly.

Absolutely great.

I will miss that sound because you could hear it like from a ways away.

So since Disney listens to our show here, 10 minute show.

So they should incorporate the.

The whistle into the somehow the car's attraction.

Somehow.

Just incorporate that.

Wouldn't that be cool?

That would be awesome.

That would be like a nice nod, you know, as they drive by like two.

I don't know.

I don't know how it works.

Just make it happen.

Very easy to do.

I feel like too.

I mean, the bushes have music there anyway coming out of them.

We just throw in a little boat noise.

Have part of that desert area be going by a.

A river part as well.

You know, I live in the high desert where there's just nothing but sand and cactus that can't grow to full height because the Wind snaps it off.

That's where I live.

And then all of a sudden you pull into Carlsbad and it's a.

It's an oasis with water and trees and grass.

So you can do that at Piston Peak.

You could put one in there.

All right.

We have to talk about something that I know nothing about.

And I feel like Brad and Tim will be the echoing voices because we haven't talked about the cruise line announcements.

And I felt like that was very tepid.

And now I'm wondering if I was wrong because I hear that a lot of people are really excited about a mid sized ship.

Absolutely.

I am.

A year ago that that's where they were going to fit in.

I'm totally astonished by the DCL announcements because there was only.

It was nothing on the new ship.

It was nothing new except for speeding up timeline on the ships coming.

Okay.

And then finally saying.

And finally saying we're doing mid sized ships.

They hinted at it.

Or of a mid sized ship.

Like, why is that?

Like, listen, if you give me a mid size, like mid to me is like, meh.

Like, okay, it's not big, it's not small.

Like, why is that Queen of Magic,.

Which is a big ship.

People say it's a small ship, but you get next to it.

It's a big ship.

Yeah.

And the Dream Class is even bigger.

So it's just somewhere between those two.

Yeah.

It's not going to be a tiny ship.

The new ones, they weren't going to.

Build any more adventure sized ships.

I think maybe that's what everybody's maybe thinking of because of Royal Caribbean's massive things they're building.

The part of the reason is the.

Amenities without the vast.

Is that what people enjoy about.

They get the amenities but not the, the size like you.

You'll have less on the ships.

Okay, let me speak to that.

I'm going to jump on it.

Oh, for.

Yeah.

I like the idea.

I wish all of the cruise lines would start doing this because I listen, I love the mega ships and I enjoy them, but they can feel overwhelming the numbers of people you try to go to.

You know what?

We got lots of shows, lots to do.

You do, but.

But the good stuff you can't get into because everybody goes to that and skips the other.

And so you go on the Disney Dream Class ships.

I'm being honest with you.

I have no desire to go on the newer ones.

I don't right now.

I just don't.

The only reason to go is to see well, what new theme are they doing?

But it's just, it's so packed and, and, and they're limited where they can go.

The nice thing with the small ships now they can sail out of Tampa.

Now they can sail out of, they can sail out of these small, these tough ports where it's difficult to do.

Now they can do it and.

Brad, Brad, you just took.

I'm gonna jump in front of you, Rebecca.

Brad, you took the.

I would be.

I'm curious to see if these, this smaller ship goes out of Tampa because Tampa's got that bridge that makes it.

You have to have smaller ships.

They tried to change that, but they couldn't get it changed.

Yeah.

But I'm just curious to see going to be able to fit underneath that bridge because a lot of the older Royal Caribbean ships will sail out of Tampa.

But imagine if you had.

Essentially it's sandwiched where you have poor Canaveral on one side and you got Tampa on the other side.

Yeah.

And also too, it's like I've only been on one Disney cruise.

The service was fantastic.

It was clean.

It was way too expensive for me for my taste.

However, with the boutique ship as well, Brad, like they're gonna charge more money too.

So it's a more boutique experience.

Yeah.

Higher price tag.

So.

Yeah.

But, but I, but I think the biggest thing and you hit the nail head is the smaller cruise ports because also too at the same time now with the smaller ship, could it fit into lookout key?

What can they fit another ship in a lookout key with also a larger Disney ship there too?

Like can they dredge out like a, a little bit more and fit two ships in there at once?

I don't know.

You know, I'm saying there's so many things that, like factors that we don't.

Know about another port that I've heard such good things about.

But I've never cruised out of there because I don't want to go on a carnival that's 30 years old.

I just, I'm past that.

I don't want to go that far backwards.

But New Orleans, yes, New Orleans, that supposedly is a great port to sail out of.

So to go in, spend a few days in New Orleans, enjoy the ambiance and, and then get on a ship and go.

I would love to do that.

Now with a smaller Disney ship, I might be able to do it on.

A fun ship cruise.

I got Kathy Lee in my head now.

When you get into the big mega ships, it's more like a theme park.

Vacation than a cruise vacation.

Okay.

That are cruising or noticing that and they want more.

More the relaxing vacation.

I think the ship is the attraction.

It's not the ports anymore, it's the ship.

Totally.

Yep.

And that's the funny thing, Tim, is like I went on a, A celebrity cruise, an older celebrity reflection ship out of the Port Everglades out of down in Fort Lauderdale.

And you know, they had like a regular sized theater.

It was very adult.

There was only like 300 kids on board.

It was very adult cruise.

And it was like an older.

It was like an old style kind of cruise like experience.

And I loved it.

Like, I didn't need all of like, I didn't need like the wave, all the big water slides and I didn't need the, the wave machines, which I've enjoyed in the past.

It was nice just to have like that like very chill, classic, classic cruise experience.

And it was, it was nice.

And now you can go some to some new ports.

Bimini.

I went to Bimini.

Yeah.

And Reflections.

So Key West.

You know what I'm saying?

Like it.

So, yeah,.

Cruises.

Absolutely.

That's my takeaway.

One, one more thing.

Because we talked about encanto at Animal Kingdom.

We did not talk about Indiana Jones at Animal Kingdom.

That is replacing dinosaur.

But that's kind of been out there already.

That's why it has.

I like the concept though, that I saw.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it did, it did.

It does look fresh.

Because that was the concern.

If you're not going to do it light like they did it at Disney, then am I going to like it as much, Right?

Yeah.

And they are mapping Harrison Ford's face.

So there's that.

Carnotaurus.

I think both the Indiana Jones and I think they have to like the encounter.

Right.

In the end, I think I'm proceed.

But you have to earn it.

You have to earn it.

I think it's like Tim said, impress me.

I was very impressed that when they announced the name of Villains Land was going to be Villains Land, that kind of summed up a lot of the creative announcement.

It kind of just didn't work.

Everybody's so creative.

But hey, focus groups, you know, they worked on it and.

But Tim, it's funny you say that because like there's been some names leaked of the new restaurants and bars over at like, like Side Lodge, like Shore Lodge or it's gonna be called whatever.

Some of them were like, really Long, like they're like these really long names.

It's like whatever just happened to like Ohana.

Yeah.

Like just something.

Something simple, you know, like Tamboo Lounge.

People figure out what it is.

Yeah, it's just like something super simple is sometimes less is more, Tim.

Right.

So Villains Land works.

Absolutely, absolutely.

And also we could call it whatever we want to.

Anyway.

We still call it, you know, Avatar Land.

I still call it mgm.

I have a feeling they tried this a few years ago with Tomorrowland.

And I think Space Mountain is going to be a new movie franchise because every Space Mountain is getting a byline under it.

New Disney IP for movies.

And that would be an interesting reversal too.
