If you're going to do anything on a weekend, fly down to Disney and get some ice cream.
Speaker AHey everybody.
Speaker AThanks for joining us.
Speaker BI'm Tim Scott and I'm his lovely wife Dawn.
Speaker AWe're here for basically part two of our weekend Florida Getaway Jetway.
Speaker AWe had a great time.
Speaker BWedding adventure.
Speaker AWedding adventure.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BIn the, the first part, we had talked about our travel down there and our niece's wonderful wedding, Wonderful wedding where we stayed and it was just really nice.
Speaker BWe had a good time.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker ASo that the wedding took up Saturday.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThere weren't any wedding plans that we knew of on Sunday, so we came up with Daytona.
Speaker BWell, they left on their honeymoon, so.
Speaker AWell, yeah.
Speaker BThere was no plan.
Speaker AWe were.
Speaker AYou were invited to that.
Speaker AAlthough we're fun people.
Speaker AI'll just point that out.
Speaker BWe are.
Speaker BSo we decided to make our own adventure because our flight home was not until like 8:21 at night or something like that.
Speaker BIt was almost 8:30 at night.
Speaker BSo we needed to do something.
Speaker AWhen did we initially book this?
Speaker AIt was like.
Speaker AWas it November?
Speaker BOh, I think it was like November.
Speaker ASo I looked up, had to know, you know, what's a 60 day dining window?
Speaker ABecause we had to figure out, if we're that close to Disney and we have a few hours to kill before we go to the airport, what else are you gonna do?
Speaker BWe're gonna go to Disney.
Speaker AWe're gonna go to Disney.
Speaker ASo we talked about it.
Speaker AWe figured, you know, how do we want to, where do we want to go?
Speaker ALike you only have four hours.
Speaker AYou can't go everywhere.
Speaker AAt Disney World, we had a little.
Speaker BBit longer than four hours.
Speaker BWell, well, I suppose that maybe.
Speaker BYeah, it was early because we left early and we did a little shopping outside of Disney.
Speaker AOh, we'll talk about that too.
Speaker AWe can talk about that too.
Speaker ASo we'll, we'll say five hours.
Speaker AI like four.
Speaker AJust sounded good for the headline.
Speaker AOkay, whatever, whatever.
Speaker ASo you'll have a few hours.
Speaker AWe decided we wanted the Skyliner.
Speaker AWe wanted to do some skylining.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BI just love the Skyliner.
Speaker BIt's so relaxing and so fun.
Speaker AIt just was little tones in person.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AKind of helps re center you for the, for some of us, the last couple weeks of school or so before we'll just say retirement.
Speaker BThat's right.
Speaker AGo you.
Speaker ASo we decided let's book some dining reservations at Beaches and Cream.
Speaker BWe had not eaten there for a long time.
Speaker BWe tried to eat there last November.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BBut it was just sort of a disaster.
Speaker AAnd it just Plans didn't align for that.
Speaker BNo, it sure didn't.
Speaker BAnd Disney was wonderful about letting us cancel because we actually showed up.
Speaker BBut some of our, our kids, they were stuck.
Speaker BIt was raining, it was storming.
Speaker BThey couldn't get here.
Speaker BIt was awful.
Speaker BAnd they were very nice about.
Speaker BThey were just saying, no worries.
Speaker ANo.
Speaker AAnd we were like, so if we cancel this, are we going to like, lose it?
Speaker BRight, right.
Speaker A$10 Per person, $20 per person.
Speaker AShe was like, well, if you cancel it, you would.
Speaker ABut if I cancel it for you, you say, could you cancel that for us?
Speaker AShe's like, yes.
Speaker BYeah, they were.
Speaker BDisney's always so accommodating.
Speaker BIf you're super nice, they're, you know, they tend to be super nice back.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BBut anyway, anyway.
Speaker BSo we had to start at the beginning.
Speaker AStart at the beginning.
Speaker AHow far the back of the beginning do we want to go to?
Speaker BJust make your reservation, then we'll move on.
Speaker AOh, we made the reservation for Beaches and Cream because you can't just park at a resort anymore.
Speaker ALike you could back in the day.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AYou have to have a reason to be there.
Speaker AAnd that's usually a dining reservation or a resort stay.
Speaker ABut we wanted to go to Beaches and Cream.
Speaker AThat's a resort.
Speaker AIt's near the Skyliner.
Speaker AWe were like, sold.
Speaker ASo at 60 days, 6am I was on there.
Speaker AGot us a time.
Speaker ASo excited.
Speaker A2:00 O', clock, 2:00pm we thought that.
Speaker BWould be very, very good.
Speaker ASo when did we leave Daytona?
Speaker BWe left Daytona.
Speaker BIt was going on like 10ish or so.
Speaker AI was like 4.
Speaker B10?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BBecause we just laid around.
Speaker BWe just took it easy, looked at the beach a little bit because it was pretty and Yep, you know, it was just nice.
Speaker BI just love the ocean.
Speaker BI love being on the ocean rather than looking at the ocean.
Speaker BBut it was fine.
Speaker AIt was totally fine.
Speaker AWe left, it was just before 11.
Speaker ABecause they were still serving breakfast at the McDonald's because you needed a Coke on the way.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AYou're on root Coke.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABut then tell us about the place we're going to give a stop at.
Speaker BSo we stopped.
Speaker BWe.
Speaker BI'd seen it online, a place called Recycling the Magic.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BAnd they have all kinds of Disney things that they've somehow acquired and rates whatnot.
Speaker BAnd I thought, well, this might be a nice little place to stop and see.
Speaker BSo we did.
Speaker BAnd it's a very small little place.
Speaker ASmall, but packed.
Speaker BOh my goodness, talk about packed.
Speaker BIt was crazy packed.
Speaker BAnd they.
Speaker BI mean, honestly, anything that you could possibly think that you Want to look at, Want to purchase.
Speaker BThey have it there.
Speaker AThey did.
Speaker ASome of the prices on some of the things were like not bad at all, I thought.
Speaker BOh, some of the prices I thought were incredibly reasonable.
Speaker BAnd then some of them, I was.
Speaker ALike, oh, there's no way.
Speaker ANo, there's no way I'm going to be able to afford that one.
Speaker AThey had like drawers I was pulling out.
Speaker AThey were like old, like I think.
Speaker AI don't know what you call them.
Speaker ABig, wide, almost like animator or drawers of some kind.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AWith like blueprints and artwork.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, this stuff is amazing.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AIf I could Spent hours, we could.
Speaker BYou could easily spend hours and hours there looking at everything.
Speaker BI found a cute little lounge fly that was small world that would match my ears and match my shirt.
Speaker BBut it was well loved.
Speaker BAnd for $45 I was like, no.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI don't know if they all were $45, but I looked at a couple others and they were also $45.
Speaker BSo yeah, some of them were in really good shape.
Speaker BThat one I think was just well loved.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BBut just tons and tons of things to look at and see.
Speaker AAnd there are things from the 15th.
Speaker A15Th anniversary.
Speaker AThe 25th anniversary.
Speaker BOh, yeah.
Speaker AA lot.
Speaker AThe most expensive thing I think we saw was a Polynesian trash can.
Speaker BOh yeah.
Speaker AIt was up high.
Speaker AI'll put a picture of it in the show notes on resortloo.com, let people.
Speaker BGuess to see how much it was and then we'll post the price.
Speaker AOh, okay.
Speaker AWe'll make some kind of game out of it then.
Speaker BYeah, that'll.
Speaker AIf I post it, I'll blur out the.
Speaker AI'll blur out the.
Speaker AYeah, the price, but.
Speaker BAnd then let them guess and then we'll see who comes closest to how much this would be.
Speaker BWe were a little shocked.
Speaker AWe were a little shocked.
Speaker BBut I did find some like really cool postcards there.
Speaker BCruise line postcards.
Speaker BOld Disney postcards.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AVintage postcards.
Speaker BBecause I've not been able to find postcards.
Speaker BI love to send postcards, but not been able to find any, like when we go to the parks or anything.
Speaker BSo I thought, I'll buy a couple.
Speaker BNow those were incredibly reasonably priced.
Speaker BThey were A$95 each.
Speaker BSo I bought some crazy to have.
Speaker ALast time we looked all over, couldn't find them.
Speaker AThen we realized when we got on a cruise there was like one or two in the drawer.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BWhich is really what I just needed.
Speaker AWhich.
Speaker AI mean, those are expensive postcards.
Speaker BOh yeah.
Speaker BHave to go on a cruise to get a postcard.
Speaker BSo we did that.
Speaker BAnd then there was another place just down the road called Pin HQ that had all kinds of Disney pins.
Speaker BI saw that online as well.
Speaker BAnd we drove in, and there was not a parking spot to be had.
Speaker BAnd the store was packed.
Speaker BAnd people who know me know that I don't like to be close to people I don't know, so.
Speaker AAnd we like pins.
Speaker AApparently, we don't love pins like other.
Speaker BNo, we do not love tins like everyone else.
Speaker BWe like them a lot.
Speaker BAnd the store was just crowded.
Speaker BLike, people are going to be bumping into me, and I'm going to be uncomfortable.
Speaker BSo we decided just to head to Disney, which then we pulled up to the Beach Club and found a little salami parking spot right up front, real.
Speaker AClose to the front.
Speaker AIt was awesome.
Speaker BIt was way.
Speaker BIt was great.
Speaker BAnd the Beach Club, it just always smells so good and just.
Speaker BIt just has a good vibe to it.
Speaker ATotally.
Speaker BSo we went to check in.
Speaker BWe were about an hour early because we didn't make our stop at the pin place.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BAnd told the guy.
Speaker BHe was, like, kind of all panicky a little bit.
Speaker BWhen I'm like, we're here very early.
Speaker BWe don't mind waiting.
Speaker BI was like, it's okay.
Speaker BWe don't need to be seated anytime soon.
Speaker BWe know our reservations at 2.
Speaker AAnd, yeah, we probably should have just flipping.
Speaker BWe probably just probably should have because I think we.
Speaker BWe threw him off.
Speaker BSo he's panicking.
Speaker BHe's like, but.
Speaker BBut you might have to wait your reservation.
Speaker BI said, we know.
Speaker BIt's okay.
Speaker BNo problem.
Speaker BSo I'm trying to explain this to him.
Speaker BAnd out of, like, I don't know, the corner of my eye, we hear this.
Speaker BTim Dawn.
Speaker BI look and we see our good friend Marlene.
Speaker BMarlene.
Speaker BOh, my gosh, it was so good to see her.
Speaker BIt was crazy.
Speaker BAnd I'm like, well, this is fantastic.
Speaker BWe have to wait for our table.
Speaker BMarlene's here having some ice cream.
Speaker BShe had a table.
Speaker BSo I think you finished up with the guy, because I totally.
Speaker AYou did.
Speaker AYou just.
Speaker AYou just turned your head and, like, left.
Speaker BI just wanted to see Marlene.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, I got this.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI just wanted to hug Marley.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker BHere.
Speaker BSo I. I totally ditched that poor guy.
Speaker BPlus, I don't think he was understanding.
Speaker BWe didn't care if we had to wait.
Speaker AHe didn't.
Speaker AI. Yeah, we should just held off.
Speaker BI think it was fine.
Speaker BBut we got to sit and chat with Marlene shorter than I wanted To.
Speaker ABecause he rushed to get us into a table because he thought we were.
Speaker BFine, but it was fine.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnyway, so we did get to go.
Speaker BWe.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BWe probably only waited 10 or 15 minutes, if that.
Speaker AIt was not long.
Speaker BIt wasn't.
Speaker AI wish it would have been longer, like you said.
Speaker BMe too.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BBut we had a very nice little table for two, so that was nice.
Speaker BAnd we both ordered the same thing, same burger.
Speaker BWe boarded the.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BThe Angus beef burger, and you got the tots, and I got fries with it.
Speaker BYou got a cherry coke.
Speaker BI just had water because I just had a Coke from McDonald's.
Speaker BAnd shout out to Kimmy, our server.
Speaker BShe was fantastic.
Speaker ASold it.
Speaker BOh, my gosh.
Speaker BShe was so nice and sweet and, you know, she was just a.
Speaker BA fun little person to chat with.
Speaker AWe were all done.
Speaker AShe asked, would you like a couple drinks to go?
Speaker AI'm like, well, yes, I do.
Speaker AI didn't think I did, but I think I do.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo she got you a cherry coke to go.
Speaker BGot me a water to go.
Speaker BWe were good to go.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BBut, yeah, it was a great meal.
Speaker BI thought the burger was fantastic.
Speaker AI don't know if I was starving or.
Speaker AThe burger was fantastic.
Speaker BI think the burger was just fantastic.
Speaker AIt was.
Speaker AIt was awesome.
Speaker BIt was good.
Speaker AThat was the best burger I'd had of in quite a while.
Speaker BAbsolutely.
Speaker BI think they changed their fries from like, the more dinery type fries to the more steak type fries.
Speaker BSo they were good.
Speaker BBut I was.
Speaker BI liked the other fries better.
Speaker BI think it's actually.
Speaker AThis is the first time we've been in Beaches and Cream since they expanded it.
Speaker AYeah, it's been a little bit.
Speaker BIt has been a long time.
Speaker BSo honestly, I think the last time we were there, it might have been Mackenzie.
Speaker BMight have been nine, and she wanted the kitchen sink, and we split the kitchen sink.
Speaker AI was gonna say, nobody ordered the kitchen sink while we were there.
Speaker BNo, they didn't.
Speaker ASomebody ordered something that caused a little bit of a ruckus.
Speaker AYeah, I remember what that was.
Speaker ABut it wasn't the kitchen sink with the lights and all that.
Speaker BNo, it wasn't.
Speaker BSo that's all right.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo then we decided to take the Skyliner over to the Riviera, because the Riviera has some nice little places to just sit and, you know, relax.
Speaker AAnd the Riviera is one of those hotels.
Speaker AThe shop's tiny, but I always like to look at it because there's usually a couple things that really interest me.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AUsually I Like, I always like to look at shirts in case a shirt jumps out of me.
Speaker AMm.
Speaker AThis time was just kind of a basic white shirt with the Riviera logo on it.
Speaker AI didn't feel the need for that one.
Speaker ASo just kind of kept on going.
Speaker ABut lots of cool things in there to look at.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BSo we were sitting out in their little terrace there and just enjoying the weather.
Speaker BIt was a beautiful day.
Speaker BIt was partly sunny.
Speaker BIt was just nice.
Speaker BThe weather was warm.
Speaker BAnd we're sitting there and I was like, I really would like a rocking chair.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BI think a rocking chair is what I need right now to just relax before I have to go back to work.
Speaker BAnd I'm like, the only place I can think of right now to find a rocking chair is at Animal Kingdom.
Speaker BAnd I would love to stare at some animals too.
Speaker AThere you go.
Speaker BAnd you're like, well, I don't know if we have enough time to get over there.
Speaker BI'm like, well, what time is was.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BIt was 3 o'.
Speaker BClock.
Speaker BI think it was exactly 3 o'.
Speaker BClock.
Speaker BAnd we really needed to be on the road back to the airport.
Speaker BLike 5:30 ish.
Speaker A5:30 Ish.
Speaker BSo I said, let's try it.
Speaker AOh, just want to jump in.
Speaker AAnd we filled up with gas for the car rental before we got to the Beach Club.
Speaker BThank goodness.
Speaker ACuz we didn't want to worry about that after.
Speaker AAfterwards.
Speaker AI just want to have it done.
Speaker AJust want to jump that in there.
Speaker BAnd I'm glad we did that.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BSo we took the Skyliner over to Hollywood Studios and then took a bus to Animal Kingdom.
Speaker AWhich came right away.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AWhich helped.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BCame right away.
Speaker BIt was 45 minutes from the time we left Riviera till the time we pulled up to Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo pretty average, I think, commute time.
Speaker BAnd we found ourselves a nice little terrace.
Speaker AWe walked through the shop, walked through the lobby, which still smells whatever they're cooking in there.
Speaker BSo lovely.
Speaker BSo found ourselves a couple rocking chairs.
Speaker BThe giraffe was out.
Speaker BSo just sat there and rocked and enjoyed the view.
Speaker BAnd it was amazing.
Speaker AIt was that when you do something like that, you realize why the Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the resorts that's worth it.
Speaker BAbsolutely.
Speaker ASome of the other ones you're like, it's a good resort.
Speaker AI'm not sure it's worth it.
Speaker AAnimal Kingdom Lodge.
Speaker B100%.
Speaker A100%.
Speaker B100%.
Speaker BSo we just love the vibe there.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd we only had about 40 minutes there.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker AEnjoyed Every minute of it.
Speaker BI enjoyed every minute of it.
Speaker BJust.
Speaker BI rocked and rocked and rocked.
Speaker BIt just felt so good.
Speaker BIt was nice.
Speaker ATotally nice.
Speaker BAnd then we had to leave.
Speaker AThen we had to leave back to the motor coach.
Speaker BWe did.
Speaker BAnd like, three, four minutes it pulled right up.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BWe really lucked out, you know, that.
Speaker BWent back to Hollywood Studios and then took one last little Skyliner ride over to Epcot and then went and got the car, so.
Speaker BChanged into my Ohio clothes.
Speaker ABoo.
Speaker AOh.
Speaker AWe didn't leave without getting going back to Beaches and Cream.
Speaker BOh, yes, we did.
Speaker BWe went back to Beaches and Cream and got ice cream because we were so full.
Speaker BThe burger was huge.
Speaker AIt was.
Speaker BIt was huge.
Speaker BI didn't.
Speaker BI didn't eat hardly.
Speaker BI ate some of the fries, but not hardly any of them because that burger was so good.
Speaker BI just wanted to keep eating the burger.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd shout out to the tots.
Speaker AThe tots were super crispy, which is perfect.
Speaker BYeah, the tots were really good.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo then we got.
Speaker BI got strawberry ice cream.
Speaker BJust one scoop.
Speaker BWhat did you get?
Speaker ACookies and cream.
Speaker AOne scoop.
Speaker BYeah, they were really, really good.
Speaker AThat was fantastic.
Speaker AThat's exactly what we needed again.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker ALooking back, when you think about it, the ice cream is expensive there.
Speaker ATo get a scoop of ice cream, however, worth it.
Speaker AI'm sitting, I'm eating my cup of ice cream at the beach club, looking across the water at, like, the swan, dolphin and everything.
Speaker BIt was delicious.
Speaker BWe found a nice little bench to sit on outside because we just wanted to be outside because it was so nice out.
Speaker AIf you're gonna do anything on a weekend and you're not going to be at home, that's something to do and get some ice cream.
Speaker BI would do that for the ice cream.
Speaker B100.
Speaker BAnyway, so then we went back to the.
Speaker BWe had to go back.
Speaker AI want to mention real quick, I'm.
Speaker BSorry I keep interrupting you.
Speaker ANo, no, I just.
Speaker AI'm jumping out of order.
Speaker AThat's the problem.
Speaker AOn our way to the Skyliner after lunch, they were working on the grounds keeping right there at the beach club outside the ABC villas there.
Speaker AThere was like a team of 15 people.
Speaker AThey had the place all torn up.
Speaker AThey were.
Speaker BIt was a mess.
Speaker AIt was a mess.
Speaker AI don't know what they were doing.
Speaker AI was like.
Speaker ANow on the way there, I'm thinking that's how you do it.
Speaker AYou get a bunch of people out there working.
Speaker AAfter our little odyssey to the animal, Keith to Riviera, Animal Kingdom and back, they were all done.
Speaker AIt Was leveled.
Speaker AIt looked perfect.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BGround.
Speaker ALook, saw now and they were cleared.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BEverything was put away.
Speaker BI was like, oh, my goodness.
Speaker BThat's the way you do it, man.
Speaker ACan I get them to work on my yard for a couple hours?
Speaker AGood Lord.
Speaker BI'm sure it take 15 of them do our yard.
Speaker AThey did a great job.
Speaker AOkay, so anyway, I was just say.
Speaker BSo we went back to the airport.
Speaker BWe skipped i4 because i4 was a hot mess.
Speaker AYeah, that's where it told us to take i4.
Speaker AAnd then going the other way was a 529.
Speaker AI don't remember.
Speaker B529.
Speaker BWhatever it takes.
Speaker AYeah, tell right about the Caribbean Royale.
Speaker AThat's how I know it.
Speaker AWith this.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AWith the 711 on the right and the Buena Vista Sweets again on the left.
Speaker BAnyway, so then tell them about dropping off the rental car.
Speaker AWell, we knew we had to go to Terminal B, and we knew we had to go to the rental car return.
Speaker BWell, let's.
Speaker BLet's.
Speaker BLet's back up a little bit.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BI knew we had to go to.
Speaker ATerminal B. I had it in the gps before that, it was going to.
Speaker BTerminal A in the gps.
Speaker BWell, that's what was going to Terminal A.
Speaker BAnd I'm like.
Speaker BI'm reading the signs and I'm like, it's Terminal B.
Speaker AAnd anyway.
Speaker BBut I stayed really, really calm, giving you directions.
Speaker BI just want a little bit of extra credit for that.
Speaker AOh, you totally get extra credit.
Speaker ABecause I don't know what I was doing.
Speaker ANo, I didn't.
Speaker BI knew he didn't.
Speaker BBut it's okay.
Speaker AYou know where you need to go.
Speaker ABut, you know, if the car's around, you know where they're going first of all, because they're doing all sorts of weird Crazy Ivans.
Speaker BI know.
Speaker BAnd I'm trying not to, like, yell and be like, get over to the left.
Speaker BAnd I'm like, you need to be in the left lane.
Speaker BYou need to get.
Speaker BNo, you're.
Speaker BYou're in the right.
Speaker BYou need to go to the left.
Speaker AYeah, I know.
Speaker BMove over one.
Speaker BAnd then you weren't really doing it.
Speaker AWell, there are cars.
Speaker BNot all the time, though.
Speaker AMost of the time there were cars or lights.
Speaker BLook, we didn't argue about it back then.
Speaker BI think maybe we shouldn't argue about it.
Speaker ANo, we didn't.
Speaker AIt was.
Speaker AIt was fine.
Speaker AWe didn't have to.
Speaker AWe didn't have to circle the airport again.
Speaker ASo we got there right the first time, so we were fine.
Speaker AAnd then the signs up ahead look like it's going one place, and then all of a sudden, you go somewhere else.
Speaker AAll of a sudden, it's changed the other lane.
Speaker BDropping off the rental car.
Speaker AI'm watching lots of cars driving 80 miles an hour or was 35, and everyone was slow.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AIt's a big blur.
Speaker AAnyway, we find it.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AWe pull right in, follow the little arrows to make sure we get to the right Alamo place.
Speaker ABecause, again, you don't want to miss it.
Speaker AHave to go back out and go back around.
Speaker ANo, that's like.
Speaker BDon't want to miss it.
Speaker AWe pull right into the Al.
Speaker AThink pull right up.
Speaker AThe guy says, pull us right in.
Speaker AI say, are we in the right spot?
Speaker AWhen he just scanned the car, said, you're good to go.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BHe checked to make sure we filled it up with gas.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BAnd we got our luggage out and we walked literally right across.
Speaker BAnd you're back in the baggage area there.
Speaker ARight, Cuz again, Alamo.
Speaker BFirst level.
Speaker AFirst level.
Speaker BIt was nice.
Speaker BSo we dropped our bag off at Breeze and we got through TSA without any problem.
Speaker BAnd our Breeze flight was on time.
Speaker BBut I will say this for the Orlando airport, Terminal B.
Speaker BDon't plan on getting any food there because there's not squat to eat there.
Speaker AWhy is the major airport not have, I don't know, more than, like, one restaurant open?
Speaker AIt wasn't even a restaurant.
Speaker AIt was like a snack stand that made empanadas.
Speaker BThat.
Speaker BYeah, that was where our gate was about.
Speaker BIn, like, the major hub area.
Speaker BBefore you branch off into the different.
Speaker BYou know what I mean, Gates.
Speaker BYeah, there's like a Wendy's and a Chinese place and whatever.
Speaker BAll closed.
Speaker AAll closed.
Speaker BThere's a gastro pub that you can pick up some stuff.
Speaker BBut after the incident on Friday night with the food poisoning, I'm like, I don't know that I want to eat anything out of a refrigerated case.
Speaker BAnd then there was another restaurant there that was just packed, and I'm like, so stop and eat before you go.
Speaker BI'm glad we ate that ice cream before we left.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AOr pack a couple granola bars just in case.
Speaker BAbsolutely.
Speaker BPack something.
Speaker BBecause there's just not anything in terminal B.
Speaker BOr get your food before you go to terminal B.
Speaker BWas probably what we should have done, but I don't know, we weren't terribly hungry, so it didn't matter.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BBut again, breeze on time and they.
Speaker BI'm telling you, when they start boarding, man, they board fast.
Speaker BAnd you better be moving that's right.
Speaker AGet in, sit down, buckle up, and move on.
Speaker BSo it was great.
Speaker BWe were early getting into Akron Canton, which was phenomenal.
Speaker BAnd the pilot's like, good news, we're here early.
Speaker BBad news, we do not have clearance to get into the gate at the moment.
Speaker ANow, keep in mind, this is the Akron Canton airport.
Speaker AThis is not the Cleveland airport.
Speaker AThere's like, nine gates.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker BSo apparently what happened is.
Speaker BWell, we did learn something new.
Speaker BThe guys that have the little orange flashlights that direct planes in, I thought.
Speaker AThey were lightsabers, but, yeah, apparently not.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BWhatever they are.
Speaker BI did not know that those people had a name.
Speaker BIt's slang.
Speaker BI don't know what their real title is, but their slang term is they're called wing walkers.
Speaker AWho knew?
Speaker BWho knew?
Speaker BSo anyway, he's like, oh, I think they're assisting another plane.
Speaker BNo, they weren't, because we were the.
Speaker BIf they had been assisting another plane, people still would have been at the airport and there would have been still people at the carousel getting their luggage.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BI think they were on a break.
Speaker AThere was another breeze flight there that had been there before us, and there was a private jet on the left that had been there.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAlready.
Speaker AAnd that was it.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBecause they were dark on the inside.
Speaker BIt was not.
Speaker BBut anyway, so we had a way.
Speaker BIt's probably around 15, 20 minutes.
Speaker BWe were there for a while.
Speaker BSo when we pulled up to the gate, we were then technically on time instead of early.
Speaker BAnd then I. I don't know what they were doing, but it took forever to get the luggage.
Speaker BForever.
Speaker BAnd then I just.
Speaker BWhen I started thinking our suitcase didn't make it, which we checked in plenty of time, our suitcase should have made.
Speaker BFinally came out.
Speaker BIt was the very last piece of luggage.
Speaker AWhy wouldn't it be?
Speaker BWhy wouldn't it be?
Speaker BI suppose somebody has to be last.
Speaker BBut anyway, I.
Speaker BIt was just.
Speaker BBy that point in time, I was tired and I had to go to work.
Speaker BYou did not have to go to work.
Speaker BBut I had to get up and go to work the next day, so.
Speaker BAnd it was Olympic day, so I was walking a mile up to the track and a mile back, hauling 28 kids behind me.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BBut they did it.
Speaker BWe had a good time.
Speaker AHey, it was your last Olympic day.
Speaker BIt was my last Olympic day.
Speaker BNo more.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BAnd my class, I'm telling you, they were so incredibly well behaved.
Speaker BOf all the classes that I've had and taken places, this, honest to Pete, was honestly the best behaved kids.
Speaker BAnd I Told him.
Speaker BI said, you guys were so well behaved, I'm gonna buy them popsicles.
Speaker BAnd then you were making cookies when I got home because they, they, some of them wanted cookies, some of them wanted popsicles.
Speaker BI let them vote.
Speaker BPopsicles won.
Speaker BBut then when you were making cookies, I was like, I can take both.
Speaker BSo I took them cookies today.
Speaker BThey were so excited.
Speaker AOh, wonderful.
Speaker BAnd I'm like, I said before, I tell you, you are still getting popsicles.
Speaker BI'm gonna buy the popsicles.
Speaker BYou're still getting popsicles.
Speaker BI said, but Mr. Scott was baking chocolate chip cookies.
Speaker BAnd I said, he made a batch for you guys.
Speaker BI mean they were cheering, jumping up and down, so excited.
Speaker AI'm like a superhero.
Speaker BYou were, you were their super.
Speaker AFound my old family recipe for cookies which is very similar to Toll House cookies.
Speaker BSo it was good.
Speaker AAnyway, so that was our travel journey over this weekend.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker ATaking up two episodes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo I want to ask everybody out there if you had four hours at Disney.
Speaker ALet's.
Speaker AWe'll say five.
Speaker AI'll throw in five in case.
Speaker BFive.
Speaker ACuz we maybe want to recycle the magic like we did.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AYou got five hours.
Speaker AWhat are you going to do?
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AI want you to contact me through the website.
Speaker AIf you want to do a show about it, let me know.
Speaker AOr maybe you've done something similar.
Speaker ATotally different.
Speaker ACrazy way.
Speaker AI'd like to hear all about that for sure.
Speaker AFive hours at Disney.
Speaker AWhat do you do?
Speaker BYou know, I think I would like that if we had to do that again.
Speaker BI think I would like to do like every mode of transportation outside of the park, like the monorail, the ferry, the, you know, the Friendship boats, all that Skyliner, the buses, all that kind of stuff to see where you could go, how many resorts you could stop at.
Speaker BNot necessarily go into, but stop at or maybe go into.
Speaker BTake a picture like in the lobby and then back out and move on.
Speaker AChallenge of some kind.
Speaker BYeah, that would be fun.
Speaker AInteresting.
Speaker AAgain, we.
Speaker AI don't think we preface this.
Speaker AWe didn't want to use a park ticket or buy a park ticket because we weren't there.
Speaker AWe were there for social.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BSuch a short period of time, but still just being on Disney property was amazing.
Speaker ADoesn't just help.
Speaker BIt just boosted my spirits.
Speaker BI'm like, I am energized.
Speaker BI can make it through the rest of the month of May.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker BI can do it.
Speaker AWho knew Disney brought joy?
Speaker BDisney brings so much joy.
Speaker BHad such a good time.
Speaker BAnd I love that Disney welcomes People to come in and enjoy, like, the resort, you know, like, not their pools and stuff like that.
Speaker BBut if you're not staying at that resort, you can eat there.
Speaker BYou can get a snack there.
Speaker BYou can, you know, just walk around the grounds and enjoy.
Speaker BI. I love that their resorts are open.
Speaker BCan't always park there unless you have, like you said, a dining reservation or something.
Speaker AYou have to have a reason to be there.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BBut it's.
Speaker BIt's great.
Speaker BWe had a great time.
Speaker AWe did.
Speaker AI see us doing that again in the future at some point.
Speaker BI hope so.
Speaker BWith Breeze.
Speaker BAnd they're great airfares.
Speaker AManu.
Speaker BWe could do.
Speaker BWe could do it.
Speaker AOh, by the way, Spirit.
Speaker ARest in peace.
Speaker BNo, that was sad.
Speaker BWe like Spirit too.
Speaker BWe had great experiences.
Speaker AWe always.
Speaker BSpirit as well.
Speaker BWe did.
Speaker BWe were, I think, some of.
Speaker BIn the minority maybe, I guess, but we had a great experience on Spirit.
Speaker BWe've had great experience on breeze.
Speaker BAnd 10 out of 10 highly recommend.
Speaker AThere you go.
