Speaker A

If you're going to do anything on a weekend, fly down to Disney and get some ice cream.

Speaker A

Hey everybody.

Speaker A

Thanks for joining us.

Speaker B

I'm Tim Scott and I'm his lovely wife Dawn.

Speaker A

We're here for basically part two of our weekend Florida Getaway Jetway.

Speaker A

We had a great time.

Speaker B

Wedding adventure.

Speaker A

Wedding adventure.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker B

In the, the first part, we had talked about our travel down there and our niece's wonderful wedding, Wonderful wedding where we stayed and it was just really nice.

Speaker B

We had a good time.

Speaker A

Yep.

Speaker A

So that the wedding took up Saturday.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

There weren't any wedding plans that we knew of on Sunday, so we came up with Daytona.

Speaker B

Well, they left on their honeymoon, so.

Speaker A

Well, yeah.

Speaker B

There was no plan.

Speaker A

We were.

Speaker A

You were invited to that.

Speaker A

Although we're fun people.

Speaker A

I'll just point that out.

Speaker B

We are.

Speaker B

So we decided to make our own adventure because our flight home was not until like 8:21 at night or something like that.

Speaker B

It was almost 8:30 at night.

Speaker B

So we needed to do something.

Speaker A

When did we initially book this?

Speaker A

It was like.

Speaker A

Was it November?

Speaker B

Oh, I think it was like November.

Speaker A

So I looked up, had to know, you know, what's a 60 day dining window?

Speaker A

Because we had to figure out, if we're that close to Disney and we have a few hours to kill before we go to the airport, what else are you gonna do?

Speaker B

We're gonna go to Disney.

Speaker A

We're gonna go to Disney.

Speaker A

So we talked about it.

Speaker A

We figured, you know, how do we want to, where do we want to go?

Speaker A

Like you only have four hours.

Speaker A

You can't go everywhere.

Speaker A

At Disney World, we had a little.

Speaker B

Bit longer than four hours.

Speaker B

Well, well, I suppose that maybe.

Speaker B

Yeah, it was early because we left early and we did a little shopping outside of Disney.

Speaker A

Oh, we'll talk about that too.

Speaker A

We can talk about that too.

Speaker A

So we'll, we'll say five hours.

Speaker A

I like four.

Speaker A

Just sounded good for the headline.

Speaker A

Okay, whatever, whatever.

Speaker A

So you'll have a few hours.

Speaker A

We decided we wanted the Skyliner.

Speaker A

We wanted to do some skylining.

Speaker B

Yes.

Speaker B

I just love the Skyliner.

Speaker B

It's so relaxing and so fun.

Speaker A

It just was little tones in person.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker A

Kind of helps re center you for the, for some of us, the last couple weeks of school or so before we'll just say retirement.

Speaker B

That's right.

Speaker A

Go you.

Speaker A

So we decided let's book some dining reservations at Beaches and Cream.

Speaker B

We had not eaten there for a long time.

Speaker B

We tried to eat there last November.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker B

But it was just sort of a disaster.

Speaker A

And it just Plans didn't align for that.

Speaker B

No, it sure didn't.

Speaker B

And Disney was wonderful about letting us cancel because we actually showed up.

Speaker B

But some of our, our kids, they were stuck.

Speaker B

It was raining, it was storming.

Speaker B

They couldn't get here.

Speaker B

It was awful.

Speaker B

And they were very nice about.

Speaker B

They were just saying, no worries.

Speaker A

No.

Speaker A

And we were like, so if we cancel this, are we going to like, lose it?

Speaker B

Right, right.

Speaker A

$10 Per person, $20 per person.

Speaker A

She was like, well, if you cancel it, you would.

Speaker A

But if I cancel it for you, you say, could you cancel that for us?

Speaker A

She's like, yes.

Speaker B

Yeah, they were.

Speaker B

Disney's always so accommodating.

Speaker B

If you're super nice, they're, you know, they tend to be super nice back.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker B

But anyway, anyway.

Speaker B

So we had to start at the beginning.

Speaker A

Start at the beginning.

Speaker A

How far the back of the beginning do we want to go to?

Speaker B

Just make your reservation, then we'll move on.

Speaker A

Oh, we made the reservation for Beaches and Cream because you can't just park at a resort anymore.

Speaker A

Like you could back in the day.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker A

You have to have a reason to be there.

Speaker A

And that's usually a dining reservation or a resort stay.

Speaker A

But we wanted to go to Beaches and Cream.

Speaker A

That's a resort.

Speaker A

It's near the Skyliner.

Speaker A

We were like, sold.

Speaker A

So at 60 days, 6am I was on there.

Speaker A

Got us a time.

Speaker A

So excited.

Speaker A

2:00 O', clock, 2:00pm we thought that.

Speaker B

Would be very, very good.

Speaker A

So when did we leave Daytona?

Speaker B

We left Daytona.

Speaker B

It was going on like 10ish or so.

Speaker A

I was like 4.

Speaker B

10?

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Because we just laid around.

Speaker B

We just took it easy, looked at the beach a little bit because it was pretty and Yep, you know, it was just nice.

Speaker B

I just love the ocean.

Speaker B

I love being on the ocean rather than looking at the ocean.

Speaker B

But it was fine.

Speaker A

It was totally fine.

Speaker A

We left, it was just before 11.

Speaker A

Because they were still serving breakfast at the McDonald's because you needed a Coke on the way.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

You're on root Coke.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

But then tell us about the place we're going to give a stop at.

Speaker B

So we stopped.

Speaker B

We.

Speaker B

I'd seen it online, a place called Recycling the Magic.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker B

And they have all kinds of Disney things that they've somehow acquired and rates whatnot.

Speaker B

And I thought, well, this might be a nice little place to stop and see.

Speaker B

So we did.

Speaker B

And it's a very small little place.

Speaker A

Small, but packed.

Speaker B

Oh my goodness, talk about packed.

Speaker B

It was crazy packed.

Speaker B

And they.

Speaker B

I mean, honestly, anything that you could possibly think that you Want to look at, Want to purchase.

Speaker B

They have it there.

Speaker A

They did.

Speaker A

Some of the prices on some of the things were like not bad at all, I thought.

Speaker B

Oh, some of the prices I thought were incredibly reasonable.

Speaker B

And then some of them, I was.

Speaker A

Like, oh, there's no way.

Speaker A

No, there's no way I'm going to be able to afford that one.

Speaker A

They had like drawers I was pulling out.

Speaker A

They were like old, like I think.

Speaker A

I don't know what you call them.

Speaker A

Big, wide, almost like animator or drawers of some kind.

Speaker B

Yes.

Speaker A

With like blueprints and artwork.

Speaker A

And I'm like, this stuff is amazing.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

If I could Spent hours, we could.

Speaker B

You could easily spend hours and hours there looking at everything.

Speaker B

I found a cute little lounge fly that was small world that would match my ears and match my shirt.

Speaker B

But it was well loved.

Speaker B

And for $45 I was like, no.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

I don't know if they all were $45, but I looked at a couple others and they were also $45.

Speaker B

So yeah, some of them were in really good shape.

Speaker B

That one I think was just well loved.

Speaker B

So.

Speaker B

But just tons and tons of things to look at and see.

Speaker A

And there are things from the 15th.

Speaker A

15Th anniversary.

Speaker A

The 25th anniversary.

Speaker B

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A

A lot.

Speaker A

The most expensive thing I think we saw was a Polynesian trash can.

Speaker B

Oh yeah.

Speaker A

It was up high.

Speaker A

I'll put a picture of it in the show notes on resortloo.com, let people.

Speaker B

Guess to see how much it was and then we'll post the price.

Speaker A

Oh, okay.

Speaker A

We'll make some kind of game out of it then.

Speaker B

Yeah, that'll.

Speaker A

If I post it, I'll blur out the.

Speaker A

I'll blur out the.

Speaker A

Yeah, the price, but.

Speaker B

And then let them guess and then we'll see who comes closest to how much this would be.

Speaker B

We were a little shocked.

Speaker A

We were a little shocked.

Speaker B

But I did find some like really cool postcards there.

Speaker B

Cruise line postcards.

Speaker B

Old Disney postcards.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

Vintage postcards.

Speaker B

Because I've not been able to find postcards.

Speaker B

I love to send postcards, but not been able to find any, like when we go to the parks or anything.

Speaker B

So I thought, I'll buy a couple.

Speaker B

Now those were incredibly reasonably priced.

Speaker B

They were A$95 each.

Speaker B

So I bought some crazy to have.

Speaker A

Last time we looked all over, couldn't find them.

Speaker A

Then we realized when we got on a cruise there was like one or two in the drawer.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

Which is really what I just needed.

Speaker A

Which.

Speaker A

I mean, those are expensive postcards.

Speaker B

Oh yeah.

Speaker B

Have to go on a cruise to get a postcard.

Speaker B

So we did that.

Speaker B

And then there was another place just down the road called Pin HQ that had all kinds of Disney pins.

Speaker B

I saw that online as well.

Speaker B

And we drove in, and there was not a parking spot to be had.

Speaker B

And the store was packed.

Speaker B

And people who know me know that I don't like to be close to people I don't know, so.

Speaker A

And we like pins.

Speaker A

Apparently, we don't love pins like other.

Speaker B

No, we do not love tins like everyone else.

Speaker B

We like them a lot.

Speaker B

And the store was just crowded.

Speaker B

Like, people are going to be bumping into me, and I'm going to be uncomfortable.

Speaker B

So we decided just to head to Disney, which then we pulled up to the Beach Club and found a little salami parking spot right up front, real.

Speaker A

Close to the front.

Speaker A

It was awesome.

Speaker B

It was way.

Speaker B

It was great.

Speaker B

And the Beach Club, it just always smells so good and just.

Speaker B

It just has a good vibe to it.

Speaker A

Totally.

Speaker B

So we went to check in.

Speaker B

We were about an hour early because we didn't make our stop at the pin place.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker B

And told the guy.

Speaker B

He was, like, kind of all panicky a little bit.

Speaker B

When I'm like, we're here very early.

Speaker B

We don't mind waiting.

Speaker B

I was like, it's okay.

Speaker B

We don't need to be seated anytime soon.

Speaker B

We know our reservations at 2.

Speaker A

And, yeah, we probably should have just flipping.

Speaker B

We probably just probably should have because I think we.

Speaker B

We threw him off.

Speaker B

So he's panicking.

Speaker B

He's like, but.

Speaker B

But you might have to wait your reservation.

Speaker B

I said, we know.

Speaker B

It's okay.

Speaker B

No problem.

Speaker B

So I'm trying to explain this to him.

Speaker B

And out of, like, I don't know, the corner of my eye, we hear this.

Speaker B

Tim Dawn.

Speaker B

I look and we see our good friend Marlene.

Speaker B

Marlene.

Speaker B

Oh, my gosh, it was so good to see her.

Speaker B

It was crazy.

Speaker B

And I'm like, well, this is fantastic.

Speaker B

We have to wait for our table.

Speaker B

Marlene's here having some ice cream.

Speaker B

She had a table.

Speaker B

So I think you finished up with the guy, because I totally.

Speaker A

You did.

Speaker A

You just.

Speaker A

You just turned your head and, like, left.

Speaker B

I just wanted to see Marlene.

Speaker A

And I'm like, I got this.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

I just wanted to hug Marley.

Speaker A

I know.

Speaker B

Here.

Speaker B

So I. I totally ditched that poor guy.

Speaker B

Plus, I don't think he was understanding.

Speaker B

We didn't care if we had to wait.

Speaker A

He didn't.

Speaker A

I. Yeah, we should just held off.

Speaker B

I think it was fine.

Speaker B

But we got to sit and chat with Marlene shorter than I wanted To.

Speaker A

Because he rushed to get us into a table because he thought we were.

Speaker B

Fine, but it was fine.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Anyway, so we did get to go.

Speaker B

We.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

We probably only waited 10 or 15 minutes, if that.

Speaker A

It was not long.

Speaker B

It wasn't.

Speaker A

I wish it would have been longer, like you said.

Speaker B

Me too.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

So.

Speaker B

But we had a very nice little table for two, so that was nice.

Speaker B

And we both ordered the same thing, same burger.

Speaker B

We boarded the.

Speaker B

Yes.

Speaker B

The Angus beef burger, and you got the tots, and I got fries with it.

Speaker B

You got a cherry coke.

Speaker B

I just had water because I just had a Coke from McDonald's.

Speaker B

And shout out to Kimmy, our server.

Speaker B

She was fantastic.

Speaker A

Sold it.

Speaker B

Oh, my gosh.

Speaker B

She was so nice and sweet and, you know, she was just a.

Speaker B

A fun little person to chat with.

Speaker A

We were all done.

Speaker A

She asked, would you like a couple drinks to go?

Speaker A

I'm like, well, yes, I do.

Speaker A

I didn't think I did, but I think I do.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

So she got you a cherry coke to go.

Speaker B

Got me a water to go.

Speaker B

We were good to go.

Speaker A

Yep.

Speaker B

So.

Speaker B

But, yeah, it was a great meal.

Speaker B

I thought the burger was fantastic.

Speaker A

I don't know if I was starving or.

Speaker A

The burger was fantastic.

Speaker B

I think the burger was just fantastic.

Speaker A

It was.

Speaker A

It was awesome.

Speaker B

It was good.

Speaker A

That was the best burger I'd had of in quite a while.

Speaker B

Absolutely.

Speaker B

I think they changed their fries from like, the more dinery type fries to the more steak type fries.

Speaker B

So they were good.

Speaker B

But I was.

Speaker B

I liked the other fries better.

Speaker B

I think it's actually.

Speaker A

This is the first time we've been in Beaches and Cream since they expanded it.

Speaker A

Yeah, it's been a little bit.

Speaker B

It has been a long time.

Speaker B

So honestly, I think the last time we were there, it might have been Mackenzie.

Speaker B

Might have been nine, and she wanted the kitchen sink, and we split the kitchen sink.

Speaker A

I was gonna say, nobody ordered the kitchen sink while we were there.

Speaker B

No, they didn't.

Speaker A

Somebody ordered something that caused a little bit of a ruckus.

Speaker A

Yeah, I remember what that was.

Speaker A

But it wasn't the kitchen sink with the lights and all that.

Speaker B

No, it wasn't.

Speaker B

So that's all right.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

So then we decided to take the Skyliner over to the Riviera, because the Riviera has some nice little places to just sit and, you know, relax.

Speaker A

And the Riviera is one of those hotels.

Speaker A

The shop's tiny, but I always like to look at it because there's usually a couple things that really interest me.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker A

Usually I Like, I always like to look at shirts in case a shirt jumps out of me.

Speaker A

Mm.

Speaker A

This time was just kind of a basic white shirt with the Riviera logo on it.

Speaker A

I didn't feel the need for that one.

Speaker A

So just kind of kept on going.

Speaker A

But lots of cool things in there to look at.

Speaker B

Yep.

Speaker B

So we were sitting out in their little terrace there and just enjoying the weather.

Speaker B

It was a beautiful day.

Speaker B

It was partly sunny.

Speaker B

It was just nice.

Speaker B

The weather was warm.

Speaker B

And we're sitting there and I was like, I really would like a rocking chair.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker B

I think a rocking chair is what I need right now to just relax before I have to go back to work.

Speaker B

And I'm like, the only place I can think of right now to find a rocking chair is at Animal Kingdom.

Speaker B

And I would love to stare at some animals too.

Speaker A

There you go.

Speaker B

And you're like, well, I don't know if we have enough time to get over there.

Speaker B

I'm like, well, what time is was.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker B

It was 3 o'.

Speaker B

Clock.

Speaker B

I think it was exactly 3 o'.

Speaker B

Clock.

Speaker B

And we really needed to be on the road back to the airport.

Speaker B

Like 5:30 ish.

Speaker A

5:30 Ish.

Speaker B

So I said, let's try it.

Speaker A

Oh, just want to jump in.

Speaker A

And we filled up with gas for the car rental before we got to the Beach Club.

Speaker B

Thank goodness.

Speaker A

Cuz we didn't want to worry about that after.

Speaker A

Afterwards.

Speaker A

I just want to have it done.

Speaker A

Just want to jump that in there.

Speaker B

And I'm glad we did that.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker B

So we took the Skyliner over to Hollywood Studios and then took a bus to Animal Kingdom.

Speaker A

Which came right away.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

Which helped.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Came right away.

Speaker B

It was 45 minutes from the time we left Riviera till the time we pulled up to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

So pretty average, I think, commute time.

Speaker B

And we found ourselves a nice little terrace.

Speaker A

We walked through the shop, walked through the lobby, which still smells whatever they're cooking in there.

Speaker B

So lovely.

Speaker B

So found ourselves a couple rocking chairs.

Speaker B

The giraffe was out.

Speaker B

So just sat there and rocked and enjoyed the view.

Speaker B

And it was amazing.

Speaker A

It was that when you do something like that, you realize why the Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the resorts that's worth it.

Speaker B

Absolutely.

Speaker A

Some of the other ones you're like, it's a good resort.

Speaker A

I'm not sure it's worth it.

Speaker A

Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Speaker B

100%.

Speaker A

100%.

Speaker B

100%.

Speaker B

So we just love the vibe there.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

And we only had about 40 minutes there.

Speaker B

So.

Speaker A

Enjoyed Every minute of it.

Speaker B

I enjoyed every minute of it.

Speaker B

Just.

Speaker B

I rocked and rocked and rocked.

Speaker B

It just felt so good.

Speaker B

It was nice.

Speaker A

Totally nice.

Speaker B

And then we had to leave.

Speaker A

Then we had to leave back to the motor coach.

Speaker B

We did.

Speaker B

And like, three, four minutes it pulled right up.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker B

We really lucked out, you know, that.

Speaker B

Went back to Hollywood Studios and then took one last little Skyliner ride over to Epcot and then went and got the car, so.

Speaker B

Changed into my Ohio clothes.

Speaker A

Boo.

Speaker A

Oh.

Speaker A

We didn't leave without getting going back to Beaches and Cream.

Speaker B

Oh, yes, we did.

Speaker B

We went back to Beaches and Cream and got ice cream because we were so full.

Speaker B

The burger was huge.

Speaker A

It was.

Speaker B

It was huge.

Speaker B

I didn't.

Speaker B

I didn't eat hardly.

Speaker B

I ate some of the fries, but not hardly any of them because that burger was so good.

Speaker B

I just wanted to keep eating the burger.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

And shout out to the tots.

Speaker A

The tots were super crispy, which is perfect.

Speaker B

Yeah, the tots were really good.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

So then we got.

Speaker B

I got strawberry ice cream.

Speaker B

Just one scoop.

Speaker B

What did you get?

Speaker A

Cookies and cream.

Speaker A

One scoop.

Speaker B

Yeah, they were really, really good.

Speaker A

That was fantastic.

Speaker A

That's exactly what we needed again.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker A

Looking back, when you think about it, the ice cream is expensive there.

Speaker A

To get a scoop of ice cream, however, worth it.

Speaker A

I'm sitting, I'm eating my cup of ice cream at the beach club, looking across the water at, like, the swan, dolphin and everything.

Speaker B

It was delicious.

Speaker B

We found a nice little bench to sit on outside because we just wanted to be outside because it was so nice out.

Speaker A

If you're gonna do anything on a weekend and you're not going to be at home, that's something to do and get some ice cream.

Speaker B

I would do that for the ice cream.

Speaker B

100.

Speaker B

Anyway, so then we went back to the.

Speaker B

We had to go back.

Speaker A

I want to mention real quick, I'm.

Speaker B

Sorry I keep interrupting you.

Speaker A

No, no, I just.

Speaker A

I'm jumping out of order.

Speaker A

That's the problem.

Speaker A

On our way to the Skyliner after lunch, they were working on the grounds keeping right there at the beach club outside the ABC villas there.

Speaker A

There was like a team of 15 people.

Speaker A

They had the place all torn up.

Speaker A

They were.

Speaker B

It was a mess.

Speaker A

It was a mess.

Speaker A

I don't know what they were doing.

Speaker A

I was like.

Speaker A

Now on the way there, I'm thinking that's how you do it.

Speaker A

You get a bunch of people out there working.

Speaker A

After our little odyssey to the animal, Keith to Riviera, Animal Kingdom and back, they were all done.

Speaker A

It Was leveled.

Speaker A

It looked perfect.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker B

Ground.

Speaker A

Look, saw now and they were cleared.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker B

Everything was put away.

Speaker B

I was like, oh, my goodness.

Speaker B

That's the way you do it, man.

Speaker A

Can I get them to work on my yard for a couple hours?

Speaker A

Good Lord.

Speaker B

I'm sure it take 15 of them do our yard.

Speaker A

They did a great job.

Speaker A

Okay, so anyway, I was just say.

Speaker B

So we went back to the airport.

Speaker B

We skipped i4 because i4 was a hot mess.

Speaker A

Yeah, that's where it told us to take i4.

Speaker A

And then going the other way was a 529.

Speaker A

I don't remember.

Speaker B

529.

Speaker B

Whatever it takes.

Speaker A

Yeah, tell right about the Caribbean Royale.

Speaker A

That's how I know it.

Speaker A

With this.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker A

With the 711 on the right and the Buena Vista Sweets again on the left.

Speaker B

Anyway, so then tell them about dropping off the rental car.

Speaker A

Well, we knew we had to go to Terminal B, and we knew we had to go to the rental car return.

Speaker B

Well, let's.

Speaker B

Let's.

Speaker B

Let's back up a little bit.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker B

I knew we had to go to.

Speaker A

Terminal B. I had it in the gps before that, it was going to.

Speaker B

Terminal A in the gps.

Speaker B

Well, that's what was going to Terminal A.

Speaker B

And I'm like.

Speaker B

I'm reading the signs and I'm like, it's Terminal B.

Speaker A

And anyway.

Speaker B

But I stayed really, really calm, giving you directions.

Speaker B

I just want a little bit of extra credit for that.

Speaker A

Oh, you totally get extra credit.

Speaker A

Because I don't know what I was doing.

Speaker A

No, I didn't.

Speaker B

I knew he didn't.

Speaker B

But it's okay.

Speaker A

You know where you need to go.

Speaker A

But, you know, if the car's around, you know where they're going first of all, because they're doing all sorts of weird Crazy Ivans.

Speaker B

I know.

Speaker B

And I'm trying not to, like, yell and be like, get over to the left.

Speaker B

And I'm like, you need to be in the left lane.

Speaker B

You need to get.

Speaker B

No, you're.

Speaker B

You're in the right.

Speaker B

You need to go to the left.

Speaker A

Yeah, I know.

Speaker B

Move over one.

Speaker B

And then you weren't really doing it.

Speaker A

Well, there are cars.

Speaker B

Not all the time, though.

Speaker A

Most of the time there were cars or lights.

Speaker B

Look, we didn't argue about it back then.

Speaker B

I think maybe we shouldn't argue about it.

Speaker A

No, we didn't.

Speaker A

It was.

Speaker A

It was fine.

Speaker A

We didn't have to.

Speaker A

We didn't have to circle the airport again.

Speaker A

So we got there right the first time, so we were fine.

Speaker A

And then the signs up ahead look like it's going one place, and then all of a sudden, you go somewhere else.

Speaker A

All of a sudden, it's changed the other lane.

Speaker B

Dropping off the rental car.

Speaker A

I'm watching lots of cars driving 80 miles an hour or was 35, and everyone was slow.

Speaker A

I don't know.

Speaker A

It's a big blur.

Speaker A

Anyway, we find it.

Speaker B

Yep.

Speaker A

We pull right in, follow the little arrows to make sure we get to the right Alamo place.

Speaker A

Because, again, you don't want to miss it.

Speaker A

Have to go back out and go back around.

Speaker A

No, that's like.

Speaker B

Don't want to miss it.

Speaker A

We pull right into the Al.

Speaker A

Think pull right up.

Speaker A

The guy says, pull us right in.

Speaker A

I say, are we in the right spot?

Speaker A

When he just scanned the car, said, you're good to go.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker B

He checked to make sure we filled it up with gas.

Speaker A

Yep.

Speaker B

And we got our luggage out and we walked literally right across.

Speaker B

And you're back in the baggage area there.

Speaker A

Right, Cuz again, Alamo.

Speaker B

First level.

Speaker A

First level.

Speaker B

It was nice.

Speaker B

So we dropped our bag off at Breeze and we got through TSA without any problem.

Speaker B

And our Breeze flight was on time.

Speaker B

But I will say this for the Orlando airport, Terminal B.

Speaker B

Don't plan on getting any food there because there's not squat to eat there.

Speaker A

Why is the major airport not have, I don't know, more than, like, one restaurant open?

Speaker A

It wasn't even a restaurant.

Speaker A

It was like a snack stand that made empanadas.

Speaker B

That.

Speaker B

Yeah, that was where our gate was about.

Speaker B

In, like, the major hub area.

Speaker B

Before you branch off into the different.

Speaker B

You know what I mean, Gates.

Speaker B

Yeah, there's like a Wendy's and a Chinese place and whatever.

Speaker B

All closed.

Speaker A

All closed.

Speaker B

There's a gastro pub that you can pick up some stuff.

Speaker B

But after the incident on Friday night with the food poisoning, I'm like, I don't know that I want to eat anything out of a refrigerated case.

Speaker B

And then there was another restaurant there that was just packed, and I'm like, so stop and eat before you go.

Speaker B

I'm glad we ate that ice cream before we left.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

Or pack a couple granola bars just in case.

Speaker B

Absolutely.

Speaker B

Pack something.

Speaker B

Because there's just not anything in terminal B.

Speaker B

Or get your food before you go to terminal B.

Speaker B

Was probably what we should have done, but I don't know, we weren't terribly hungry, so it didn't matter.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker B

But again, breeze on time and they.

Speaker B

I'm telling you, when they start boarding, man, they board fast.

Speaker B

And you better be moving that's right.

Speaker A

Get in, sit down, buckle up, and move on.

Speaker B

So it was great.

Speaker B

We were early getting into Akron Canton, which was phenomenal.

Speaker B

And the pilot's like, good news, we're here early.

Speaker B

Bad news, we do not have clearance to get into the gate at the moment.

Speaker A

Now, keep in mind, this is the Akron Canton airport.

Speaker A

This is not the Cleveland airport.

Speaker A

There's like, nine gates.

Speaker A

Exactly.

Speaker B

So apparently what happened is.

Speaker B

Well, we did learn something new.

Speaker B

The guys that have the little orange flashlights that direct planes in, I thought.

Speaker A

They were lightsabers, but, yeah, apparently not.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker B

Whatever they are.

Speaker B

I did not know that those people had a name.

Speaker B

It's slang.

Speaker B

I don't know what their real title is, but their slang term is they're called wing walkers.

Speaker A

Who knew?

Speaker B

Who knew?

Speaker B

So anyway, he's like, oh, I think they're assisting another plane.

Speaker B

No, they weren't, because we were the.

Speaker B

If they had been assisting another plane, people still would have been at the airport and there would have been still people at the carousel getting their luggage.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker B

I think they were on a break.

Speaker A

There was another breeze flight there that had been there before us, and there was a private jet on the left that had been there.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

Already.

Speaker A

And that was it.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Because they were dark on the inside.

Speaker B

It was not.

Speaker B

But anyway, so we had a way.

Speaker B

It's probably around 15, 20 minutes.

Speaker B

We were there for a while.

Speaker B

So when we pulled up to the gate, we were then technically on time instead of early.

Speaker B

And then I. I don't know what they were doing, but it took forever to get the luggage.

Speaker B

Forever.

Speaker B

And then I just.

Speaker B

When I started thinking our suitcase didn't make it, which we checked in plenty of time, our suitcase should have made.

Speaker B

Finally came out.

Speaker B

It was the very last piece of luggage.

Speaker A

Why wouldn't it be?

Speaker B

Why wouldn't it be?

Speaker B

I suppose somebody has to be last.

Speaker B

But anyway, I.

Speaker B

It was just.

Speaker B

By that point in time, I was tired and I had to go to work.

Speaker B

You did not have to go to work.

Speaker B

But I had to get up and go to work the next day, so.

Speaker B

And it was Olympic day, so I was walking a mile up to the track and a mile back, hauling 28 kids behind me.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker B

But they did it.

Speaker B

We had a good time.

Speaker A

Hey, it was your last Olympic day.

Speaker B

It was my last Olympic day.

Speaker B

No more.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker B

And my class, I'm telling you, they were so incredibly well behaved.

Speaker B

Of all the classes that I've had and taken places, this, honest to Pete, was honestly the best behaved kids.

Speaker B

And I Told him.

Speaker B

I said, you guys were so well behaved, I'm gonna buy them popsicles.

Speaker B

And then you were making cookies when I got home because they, they, some of them wanted cookies, some of them wanted popsicles.

Speaker B

I let them vote.

Speaker B

Popsicles won.

Speaker B

But then when you were making cookies, I was like, I can take both.

Speaker B

So I took them cookies today.

Speaker B

They were so excited.

Speaker A

Oh, wonderful.

Speaker B

And I'm like, I said before, I tell you, you are still getting popsicles.

Speaker B

I'm gonna buy the popsicles.

Speaker B

You're still getting popsicles.

Speaker B

I said, but Mr. Scott was baking chocolate chip cookies.

Speaker B

And I said, he made a batch for you guys.

Speaker B

I mean they were cheering, jumping up and down, so excited.

Speaker A

I'm like a superhero.

Speaker B

You were, you were their super.

Speaker A

Found my old family recipe for cookies which is very similar to Toll House cookies.

Speaker B

So it was good.

Speaker A

Anyway, so that was our travel journey over this weekend.

Speaker B

Yes.

Speaker A

Taking up two episodes.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

So I want to ask everybody out there if you had four hours at Disney.

Speaker A

Let's.

Speaker A

We'll say five.

Speaker A

I'll throw in five in case.

Speaker B

Five.

Speaker A

Cuz we maybe want to recycle the magic like we did.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

You got five hours.

Speaker A

What are you going to do?

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker A

I want you to contact me through the website.

Speaker A

If you want to do a show about it, let me know.

Speaker A

Or maybe you've done something similar.

Speaker A

Totally different.

Speaker A

Crazy way.

Speaker A

I'd like to hear all about that for sure.

Speaker A

Five hours at Disney.

Speaker A

What do you do?

Speaker B

You know, I think I would like that if we had to do that again.

Speaker B

I think I would like to do like every mode of transportation outside of the park, like the monorail, the ferry, the, you know, the Friendship boats, all that Skyliner, the buses, all that kind of stuff to see where you could go, how many resorts you could stop at.

Speaker B

Not necessarily go into, but stop at or maybe go into.

Speaker B

Take a picture like in the lobby and then back out and move on.

Speaker A

Challenge of some kind.

Speaker B

Yeah, that would be fun.

Speaker A

Interesting.

Speaker A

Again, we.

Speaker A

I don't think we preface this.

Speaker A

We didn't want to use a park ticket or buy a park ticket because we weren't there.

Speaker A

We were there for social.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker A

So.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

Such a short period of time, but still just being on Disney property was amazing.

Speaker A

Doesn't just help.

Speaker B

It just boosted my spirits.

Speaker B

I'm like, I am energized.

Speaker B

I can make it through the rest of the month of May.

Speaker A

Right?

Speaker B

I can do it.

Speaker A

Who knew Disney brought joy?

Speaker B

Disney brings so much joy.

Speaker B

Had such a good time.

Speaker B

And I love that Disney welcomes People to come in and enjoy, like, the resort, you know, like, not their pools and stuff like that.

Speaker B

But if you're not staying at that resort, you can eat there.

Speaker B

You can get a snack there.

Speaker B

You can, you know, just walk around the grounds and enjoy.

Speaker B

I. I love that their resorts are open.

Speaker B

Can't always park there unless you have, like you said, a dining reservation or something.

Speaker A

You have to have a reason to be there.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

But it's.

Speaker B

It's great.

Speaker B

We had a great time.

Speaker A

We did.

Speaker A

I see us doing that again in the future at some point.

Speaker B

I hope so.

Speaker B

With Breeze.

Speaker B

And they're great airfares.

Speaker A

Manu.

Speaker B

We could do.

Speaker B

We could do it.

Speaker A

Oh, by the way, Spirit.

Speaker A

Rest in peace.

Speaker B

No, that was sad.

Speaker B

We like Spirit too.

Speaker B

We had great experiences.

Speaker A

We always.

Speaker B

Spirit as well.

Speaker B

We did.

Speaker B

We were, I think, some of.

Speaker B

In the minority maybe, I guess, but we had a great experience on Spirit.

Speaker B

We've had great experience on breeze.

Speaker B

And 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

Speaker A

There you go.

Speaker B

There you go.

Speaker B
